Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is processed when you visit our site, how cookies and ads work, and what your rights are.

This is an English translation of our Turkish privacy policy, provided for convenience. If the two versions differ, the Turkish version prevails.

1. Scope and data controller

This Privacy Policy applies to the CompeteRadar (https://www.competeradar.com.tr) website. The data controller under Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK") is Umutcan Çetinkaya. For any questions about this policy, you can reach us at iletisim@competeradar.com.tr.

2. What information do we process?

You don't need an account to use CompeteRadar, and the site has no sign-up form asking for personal details such as your name or phone number. The information processed is limited to the following:

  • Server logs: When you visit the site, your IP address, browser and device information, the page you visit and the time of your visit may be kept in technical logs by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and debugging purposes.
  • Abuse prevention: To prevent excessive use of the "Scan for New Competitions" feature and the admin login, your IP address is irreversibly encrypted (hashed). Only this hashed value is kept, to limit the number of requests: for 10 minutes for scans and 15 minutes for admin logins. Expired entries are deleted automatically on later requests. Your IP address itself is not stored.
  • Visit statistics: We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how often pages are visited. This service does not use cookies or store information that identifies you; it only produces aggregate figures such as page views, country, browser type and the site a visit came from.
  • Contact: When you email us, your name, email address and the content of your message are used only to respond to your request. The form on the Contact page prepares your message in your own email app; the form's content is not sent to our servers.
  • Advertising cookies: Ads shown through Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies (details below).

The competition information listed on the site is compiled from publicly available web sources and contains no personal data about visitors.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites you visit save in your browser. CompeteRadar does not use tracking or marketing cookies for its own operation. Fonts are loaded from the site's own server. The only third-party service on the site that uses cookies is Google AdSense advertising, described below.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not affect the site's core functions, but it limits ad personalization.

4. Google AdSense and advertising

Ads on our site are shown through the Google AdSense service provided by Google LLC. In this context:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info and, for users in Europe, at www.youronlinechoices.eu.

For details on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see the Google partner sites policy and Google advertising technologies pages. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads are shown.

5. Third-party services and data transfers

  • Hosting: The site runs on Cloudflare infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics: Cookieless, aggregate visit statistics (as described above).
  • Google AdSense: Ad delivery (as described above).
  • Anthropic (Claude): Used during competition scans to research publicly available web pages and structure competition information. No personal data about visitors is included in this processing.

Some of these service providers may have servers outside Türkiye. Data processed through advertising cookies is subject to Google's own privacy policies.

6. External links

Our site contains links to competitions' official pages and other third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these sites; we recommend reviewing the privacy policies of the sites you visit.

7. Children's privacy

Although some competitions we list are aimed at high school students, CompeteRadar does not knowingly collect personal data from users under 18. If you become aware that a person under 18 has sent us personal data, please contact us.

8. Your rights under KVKK

Under Article 11 of KVKK, you have the right to apply to the data controller to:

  • Learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, request information about it;
  • Learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose;
  • Know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom the data is transferred;
  • Request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate, and deletion under the conditions set out in KVKK;
  • Object to an outcome against you resulting from analysis exclusively by automated systems, and claim compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top of the page is changed.
